Getting Your New Site Live ASAP

In every build, a few key aspects can make or break the timeline. We already account for common delays in our process, meaning that if you are able to deliver these items quickly the site can launch even sooner!

Major Timeline Factors

Core Materials

Typical delay: 1-3 weeks

Branding guidelines, logos, domain registrar, Google Analytics access, these items can have a major impact on our ability to deliver the new site experience as quickly as possible.

New Content

Typical Delay: 3-8 weeks

This is by far the biggest delay point in any project, whereby your team wishes to see new content that did NOT appear on the previous site. We always encourage the Build, Launch, Refine model. More on that below!

Approvals

Typical Delay: 1-2 weeks

Clients typically approve deliverables (design, etc) within 3 days of delivery. But too many hands on the client's side can create a much later launch window. When a committee is involved, the delay can be 3-5x above.

How To Ensure A Speedy Launch!

Core Materials

Here's how to ensure this phase goes beautifully:

  1. Logos & Branding - Ensuring that your core branding is in a Dropbox or similar shared service helps us work effectively.
  2. Photos & Video - The higher resolution, the better! Let's see your team, customers, office, product or service.
  3. Third Parties - Who else will be in the site, agencies? Ad providers? Let's get those intro's right away.
  4. Access to Essential Info - Google Analytics and Domain Registrar are the most common hold ups. Let's get those EARLY!

New Content

Follow The Less Is More Philosophy For Launch:

  1. Impact vs. Volume - Focus attention on the 1-5 pages of the site that need to be improved before launch, including the home page.
  2. Content Strategy - A great site is never finished, and by mapping a strategy that extends far past the launch of the new site, you'll be in position to continue advancing the content and storytelling experience.
  3. Build, Launch, Refine - We have seen time and time again that Google MUCH prefers to see a site launch and new pages be added over time, verses seeing a stagnant "live" site while new content is being added in the background to the new site.

Prepare Your Team For Success:

  1. Limiting Team Size - Nothing increases speed to launch like a single decision maker, backed by a few people internally who report to that person. The more "cooks" in the kitchen, the longer the site launch will take!
  2. Setting Aside Time - Ensuring your calendar is clear the 2-3 weeks with approvals will help create the attention necessary to quickly provide feedback and approvals. The faster you are, the faster we can be for you!

IMPACT

By following the above formulas for success, you can help us reduce the time to launch of a new, high-end bespoke website experience by as much as 40%.
